Director Atlee, known for his recent blockbuster Jawan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, which shattered box office records, is now planning an ambitious project that could bring together two of Indian cinema’s biggest superstars, Rajinikanth and Salman Khan. According to leading media reports, the acclaimed filmmaker is working on a mass action film and is reportedly in talks to secure both Rajinikanth and Salman Khan for the film. Regarding this untitled project, a source revealed to Pinkvilla, “It’s a film that is slated to go on floors by early 2025. Atlee is planning to make it the biggest Pan-India spectacle by pulling off one of the biggest casting coups of recent times. The film will feature Salman Khan and a top A-List superstar from the South. The talks are on and if the things materialise, it will raise the stakes even more.” In a further update on bringing Salman Khan and Rajinikanth together, a trade source told Bollywood Hungama, “Sun Pictures will be producing the film and they share a family-like bond with superstar Rajinikanth. Atlee on the other hand has been in touch with Salman Khan for the last two years. They are confident to get both Rajinikanth and Salman Khan onboard.”
